About HardwareTestingPro

HardwareTestingPro is a free collection of browser-based diagnostic tools built for one specific purpose: giving anyone a fast, honest way to check whether a piece of computer or mobile hardware is actually working correctly - without installing software, creating an account, or trusting a mystery benchmark score.

Why This Site Exists

Testing a keyboard for ghosting, checking a monitor for dead pixels, or confirming a mouse's real polling rate used to mean digging through obscure forum threads, downloading a utility of uncertain origin, or relying on operating system menus that bury the setting you actually need. We built HardwareTestingPro to put that same diagnostic power directly in a browser tab - using nothing but standard web technology already built into Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge.

What Makes These Tools Different

Every tool on this site reads a real signal your browser already has access to - an actual KeyboardEvent, actual microphone input levels through the Web Audio API, actual frame timing for a refresh-rate estimate - and shows it to you immediately. We deliberately avoid faking or simulating results. Where a browser genuinely can't measure something precisely (like exact display brightness in nits, which requires a physical light meter), the relevant tool page says so directly instead of inventing a number that looks convincing but isn't real.

Privacy by Design

None of our tools require a login, and none of them send your input anywhere. A microphone test processes audio entirely in your browser tab; a typing speed test never transmits what you typed. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.

Who Built This

HardwareTestingPro is maintained by a small team focused specifically on browser-based diagnostics. We test each tool across multiple browsers and devices before publishing it, and we keep expanding the library as new, genuinely useful browser APIs become available.
